February 17 was the big day that we were able to find out the gender of Baby Allerson No. 2. I was completely on board, but Matt had his reservations. We didn’t find out the gender with Owen, and that was one more surprise at the end. Being the “Type A” person that I am, I was trying to eliminate any unnecessary surprises at the end of this pregnancy. Plus, we will be moving into our new home next week and I would love to spend some time decorating the nursery! 🙂
I have to share that I was nervous for this appointment. The 20 week appointment is so exciting, but it can also reveal concerns that you weren’t thinking about. I also didn’t let myself get fixated on one gender, so I really didn’t know how I would react when we found out. First, I’m happy to report that baby and mommy are both healthy and everything is looking great. Baby is currently weighing in at 11 ounces. We’ll have another ultrasound next month to ensure growth is on track, so we’ll get a few extra pictures of Baby A. 🙂
Now, without further ado, Lucy and I are officially going to be outnumbered. Baby Allerson No. 2 is a BOY! I couldn’t be more excited for Owen to have a brother and for us to add another boy to our family! I think there’s such a special bond between brothers and I’m ecstatic that Owen and Baby A are going to have a lifelong friend.
It all seems a bit surreal to me. Everything went so great and God has blessed us with another healthy boy. Although, Lucy and I are going to be outnumbered now, I think we can hold our own 😉 God is so amazing and I was reminded of it all again yesterday during the ultrasound. The intricate way that he knits us all together is just incredible. It’s overwhelming.
If you’re waiting for a miracle today, look into a child’s eyes and know that anything is possible.
I hope everyone is enjoying this spring weather.
Blessings to you and your family,
