Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
These two words don’t seem to be enough to express how I really feel. I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect when I shared Tera’s story last week. I felt vulnerable and exposed sharing the battle that Tera and our family are going through. But, the outpouring support from friends and family near and far was simply humbling. We are all eternally grateful.
These acts of generosity really got me thinking. So often, we hear of everything that is wrong in this world. From the constant news feeds, to social media, and even just the radio it seems as though we can’t get away from it. It starts to feel as though everything is wrong in the world. But, you know what, it’s not. There is a lot that is right in the world, but unfortunately that doesn’t sell magazines or newspapers.
It’s the small slice of life that happened here last week that is just a glimpse into the goodness of people. Friends that I haven’t spoken to in years – literally years – reached out with prayers and donated their hard earned money to support our team on June 2. Family members who we haven’t seen in too long to mention reached out with their love and financial support. Friends who I have only known for a short while reached out with prayers and support for Team Tera. When I posted Tera’s story I was hoping to raise $100 for our team – and as of tonight the total is $730! Yes, $730! What an amazing blessing.
Even though that blessing is amazing, it doesn’t compare to the blessing we received this week. God has heard all of our prayers. On Tuesday, Tera got the incredible news that this chemo treatment is working! Tera’s treatments will continue, but we now know that the doctor’s have found the right treatment!
Please continue to keep Tera, Chad, Carly, and Will all in your thoughts and prayers as they walk this road of treatment.
I hope that this story not only brings you joy, because of Tera’s amazing news, but also restores some of your faith in humanity.
Three items I’m grateful for:
- God’s blessings
- Doctor’s who don’t give up!
- The gift of hope
